Change in the management

Hermann Abel und Richard Heidenecker verabschiedeten Georg Bernhart

Farewell to Georg Bernhart after 45 years - Stefan Rottenaicher moves to the management board

There was a significant change at ABEL Mobilfunk at the turn of the year: after 45 years with the company, Georg Bernhart was bid farewell to his well-deserved retirement during a festive staff meeting. In his farewell speech, Hermann Abel honoured Bernhart's impressive career from radio technician to Managing Director and co-founder of ABEL Mobilfunk. ‘With your tireless commitment and human leadership, you have decisively shaped ABEL Mobilfunk,’ said Abel. In addition to a certificate of honour, Bernhart received a symbolic glass trophy honouring his 45 years with the company and a gift of wine. ‘Thank you very much, Schorsch,’ said his colleagues, who thanked him for his commitment. Visibly moved, Georg Bernhart expressed his thanks for the kind words and explained that although he was sad to say goodbye, he was looking forward to spending more time with his family and friends.

Appointment as Managing Director as a logical consequence

He will be succeeded by Stefan Rottenaicher, who will be responsible for the commercial and technical service units as well as overarching corporate communications within the Executive Board from 1 January 2025. Rottenaicher, who has worked as a divisional manager at the company since 2020, brings with him extensive expertise from various industries and management positions. For him, the appointment as Managing Director is the logical consequence of his professional career to date. After training as an IT systems administrator, he completed a degree in business administration in Munich, France and the USA. He then worked for an international management consultancy for over eight years. In this role, he supported projects in various industries with a focus on strategy, digitalisation and global project management. In 2015, he moved to a large German bank, where he was responsible for the further development of digital channels in addition to developing new business models.

‘With Stefan Rottenaicher, we have a leader on board who will lead the company into the future with vision and expertise,’ explained Hermann Abel. Rottenaicher expressed his thanks for the trust placed in him and announced that he would consistently continue the successful development of ABEL Mobilfunk. With this change at the top, ABEL Mobilfunk, a leading service provider in the mobile communications sector, is sending a strong signal for the future and the further development of the company.
